I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and young adults, though I do also see some adults for individual therapy. Most, but not all, of the kids in my practice are boys from about age 10 and up, and many are neurodivergent (ADHD, ASD, learning disabilities, etc.). Sessions are ~50 minutes and can be in person or virtual (via Zoom).
My doctorate is in couple and family therapy, as is my most extensive clinical training. Many of the families I meet with are families with adolescents, an age group I especially excel with (and enjoy). Sessions are ~50 minutes and are most effective in person, though virtual (via Zoom) can be an option.
I’ve spent many years doing EF coaching with elementary, middle, and high schoolers as well as college students. I'm intimately familiar with the New York City private and public school systems and often see students who need academic and executive functioning support alongside traditional mental health care.
My elite credentials as a double-Ivy grad with a PhD along with extensive clinical training and experience—12+ years in practice—speak to a high level of professional competence paired with unpretentious confidence.
Parents find in me an extremely reliable, responsive, and reassuring partner in caring for and supporting their children through difficult times.
Kids, teens, and young adults experience me as fun and funny, a relatable grown-up and older brother type who “gets it” and treats them like real people whose private concerns are worth taking seriously. I have a special knack for connecting with reluctant types, including those who haven't had positive experiences with therapy in the past, and I’m frequently told that kids actually—gasp!—look forward to seeing me.
Throughout that time, I’ve established a reputation not just as an accomplished therapist with highly sought expertise but also just as a guy who’s thoughtful, patient, and kind.
In other words, I'm a real person who connects with people on a genuine level and can understand their lives in a deeply attuned way that’s simultaneously curious and nonjudgmental. If that sounds appealing to you, we might be a good fit!
The best way to determine whether we're a good fit is to get the conversation going! Get in touch below to schedule a complimentary consultation call via phone or Zoom. Even if I don’t have any availability (or we’re not a match after all), I’m often able to provide referrals to other trusted colleagues within my professional network.
